George Masterton, tinsmith in Forfar, was convicted at the age of 19, of assaulting Thomas Fyffe.

Genealogy

George Masterton was the second child and eldest son of William Masterton, weaver, and Betsy Alexander, who had married in 1848 in Forfar. George moved from Forfar soon after this, and appears in later census returns from Dundee, Aberdeen and Glasgow, and married Bathie McPherson in 1879 in Aberdeen. POLICE COURT. - Yesterday - before Bailie Webster - George Masterton, tinsmith, North Street, was found guilty of having assaulted Thomas Fyffe, carter, West High Street, on the 15th April, and was fined 7s 6d, or seven days' imprisonment.
